Résumé

Objective: To provide an overview of the interconnectional links between

Patient and Practitioners, the role of subsection communication of the code of ethics as a tool that improve the relation Practitioner/patients when it has been applied in strict observance of the principles of modern bioethics. To describe several strategies and guidelines towards more successful communication.

Discussion: Beside the four principles that form the core of modern bioethics that include autonomy, beneficience, nonmaleficience and justice, current ethics guides define a clear statement on the patient/physician relationship emphasizing the role of successfully communication depending on a COLLABORATIVE effort from both sides. Different strategies on communication are discussed to minimise defensive medical practice. Conclusion: The code of modern medical ethics in its subsection communication recommends that physicians shall exercise patience with patients and focus seriously on communication, always exercise independent professional judgement and maintain highest professional standards within a strict respect of local and national codes of ethics. These are challenges for RDC Practitioners.
